The Bottle Piece

Oct 2017- Jan 2018

Fabric, daily consumed plastic/ glass containers, Paint, Sound incorporated.

Scale variable.

I find it hard to distinguish the production of people from the production of things. Inspired and troubled by this thought, I created The Bottle Piece.

By putting highly-crafted hand-made dolls into industrialized consumed-waste bottles, there is an attempt to hint at the uncomfortable but resigned experience of living under the repeated act of consuming and producing.

I am fascinated by the restraint which containers give to the inside materials. The surface, which is smooth, transparent, clear and clean, promises a sense of safety, but at the same time, suffocates the subject… A cluster of relationships, between fabric, containers and the surrounding air is presented here.
